Lochside Caravan and Camping Site is situated in the picturesque town of Castle Douglas, Stewartry.

There are 108 caravan stances, 73 of which are hard standing with a separate camping site for 53 tents. Electric hook-ups are available. Laundry facilities are available on site.

Lochside Park plays host to a variety of facilities for children including two play parks, putting and rowing boats, which are available for hire on the beautiful Carlingwork Loch.

Vehicle access to the site is controlled by a new automated barrier system. This is to ensure the highest standards of safety for our customers.

Arts and Crafts
The lighthouse and the landscape of Dumfries and Galloway has been an inspiration to artists for centuries. The pretty harbour town of Kirkcudbright is the most well know for artists in the region and has aquired the title of Artists Town for its historical artistic connection.

Gardens
The gardens of Dumfries and Galloway are blessed with a climate unusual in Scotland. From the palm fringed west coast, to the secluded walled gardens further east, to the specialist nurseries tending rare and unusual plants to the annual floral outburst in towns ans villages, competing for Britain in Bloom. Fishing
With so many rivers, lochs and reservoirs and a huge coastline, Dumfries and Galloway offers great fishing in relaxing surroundings. Larger rivers compare more than favourable with better known waters further north and have been famed for their prodigous runs of sea trout and greyback Solway Salmon.

Water Sports
From swimming pools to river trips, raft building and windsurfing, Dumfries and Galloway is famous for its vast expanses of water. Loch Ken on the edge of Forest Part offers safe waters for a range of Water sports, while towns along the Solway Firth provide moorings for visiting boats, yachts and boat hire.

Kirkcudbright has been designed as ?The Artists Town? and has superb facilities at the picturesque Kirkcudbright Marina which can moor 25 yachts on its recently extended pontoon.

Multi-Activities
For an action-packed day out, try spending a full day at an activity centre where you can try a range of activities to get your adrenalin pumping. Go-carting, buggy racing, quad biking, paint balling, clay pigeon shooting, off road driving, raft building or digger driving. For a more sedate day out what about ice-skating, 10 pin bowling or spending a relaxing day in a spa. Or tire your children out with adventure play centres and leisure centres.

Dalbeattie Forest, The 18 mile ?Hardrock Trail? is the first of the new 7 stanes mountain bike centres to open and is already getting rave reviews from bikers all over Britain. Dalbeattie?s trail is graded as one for some spine chilling sections for the experts.

Mabie Forest has great mountain biking for all levels, attractive forest walks, loads of wildlife, and very importantly, an amazing play park for the kids ? they?ll love it!
