This site is a small rural site, within minutes of the town centre of Chorley but in the West Lancashire Pennine Moors. All pitches are hard standing and are accessed via a circular tarmac road. The site is on 0.5 acres, and is level.
Although it is near to the town, it is a country site with an abundance of wild life. The River Yarrow marks one of the boundaries and fishing is free from the banks of the river, for trout and sea trout. The Leeds/ Liverpool canal is at the top of Hoggs Lane. Pleasant walks into the countryside can be enjoyed. Convenient for Wigan Pier, Botany Bay, and there is a market in Chorley four times a week.Supermarket and good pub food five minutes walk away.

Reviews of Springwood Cottage Caravan Park

We visited Springwood Cottage as a family for Feb half term and would recommend this campsite. Nice and quiet with plenty of local attractions to visit for all ages and interests. Closeby to the canal and Duxbury Park for walks. Fredericks Ice Cream parlour a must! Chorley Town Centre short drive/15 mins walk away and central point to explore Lancashire. Friendly owner and looking forward to our return at Easter.
Great site ! Gordon friendly chap and helpfull, Great base site for walks along leeds liverpool canal, rivington etc, just off A6 near yarrow bridge hotel ... Loads of usual animal noises, Hope the goose as gone in the pan by next time we visit noisy little bugger lol WE WILL BE BACK SOON FOR SURE .
brill place lovely people we will be going back
Camped for a week, very peaceful. Great fishing (brown trout). Owners a lovely fella and very helpful. Working farm with goats, sheep, chickens, cockerels, dogs and plenty of wildlife. Drinking water, 1 toilet and no shower, so not for the those that like home comforts, (unless you have family nearby to take the odd bath, as we did) lol. Can't wait to go again.
Beautiful, peaceful tranquil site. Enjoyed lovely country walks, plenty to do & see.
