The Manor House is a gentleman Farmer's house dating from the early 18th Century, set in 8 acres of it's own land in the village of Oughterside on the North Western Edge of the Lake District. Located just 5 miles from the market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth and twenty miles from Keswick and Carlisle, it is an ideal spot for exploration of the Northern Fells and Lakes.
Rove the country lanes on foot, by bike or by car. The Allerdale footpath and cycle way are close by.
Enjoy walking along unspoilt beaches by the Solway Firth.
We are ideally placed as a stepping stone for continued exploration North towards Hadrians Wall and on to the glories of Scotland, or East along the borders.
We have ample private parking and a large garden that we love to share with our guests.
Our caravan site occupies an acre lawned field set apart from the house.
There are hard standings and electric hook-ups
Tents are welcome but there are no toilet facilities
Now Available, a fully equipped static caravan. It's one double bedroom is larger than most, with washbasin and loads of wardrobe space. Sited in a quiet corner with views across open farmland, this is for couples who prefer not to stay on noisy or crowded caravan parks.
