Rydal Hall is situated within 34 acres in the heart of the English Lake District and is the Diocese of Carlisle Conference, Retreat and Holiday Centre and home to the Rydal Hall Community. We welcome Conference groups (both Residential and Day) and also Private Guests to stay in the hall.

The Hall has 30 bedrooms with en-suite and private facilities and has a maximum of 50 bed spaces as well as a variety of meeting rooms to accommodate various sizes of groups. The Youth Centre is also available for groups with a capacity of 36. The Campsite is situated in various areas around the site and at present we are having a new shower, toilet and wash-up area constructed. This will bring our standard up to being one of the finest campsites in the Lake District. On one area of the Campsite we have three Pods which are available for hire. We also have a two bed- roomed holiday cottage which is ideally situated on the Coffin Walk. Details can be found on this website.

If you are visiting the Lake District for a day or longer why not call into our Old School Room Teashop which sells homemade cakes, scones, soup and sandwiches together with an extensive range of teas and coffees. Before you leave take some time to explore the Thomas Mawson Garden, Quiet Garden together with the Community Kitchen Garden.

Reviews of Rydal Hall Campsite

Lovely site with adventure playground, tea shop and fire pit which can be booked. Some niggles but we are planning to go back so only minor irritations.
We were pitched at C4 (check Rydal's map) which was a great spot by a stream. Got a bit hemmed in by a large group booked alongside us so possibly would benefit campers if they booked fewer tents to each spot, but it was the bank holiday weekend so very busy. New toilet / shower block was lovely, but was shut every morning 10 - 12 for cleaning which was a bit of a pain and the showers had a habit of stopping when you were part way through! This block is up a steep slope which gets slippy when wet, so anyone with walking difficulties should ask for pitch up the slope near the yurts. The nearby pub, the Badger Bar is family friendly and does great meals, bit expensive but its the Lakes. You can walk to Ambleside easily from here which has a selection of pubs and restaurants. Overall, great site for families in a great location.
